Till today, I had a wrong perception on how to and when to use “never mind” idiom. While I was asking a favour to my friend, I said, “Never mind for asking this favour”. Immediately, my friend told me don’t use ‘never mind’ here in this situation, use ‘do not mind’ instead. Then, I thought of googling what exactly this ‘never mind’ means.
